Hertfordshire Burger Eating Contest

18 Jul 2018

We’re calling on Hertfordshire’s hungriest humans to join us on Saturday, July 20th for a unique – not to mention delicious – fundraising event: The Hertfordshire Burger Eating Contest. If you’re known for your big appetite, this is the contest for you. The competition will see contestants attempt to eat a four-pound Foxy Burger in the fastest time possible to be crowned the champion and to earn yourself a £100 voucher to be used here at The Fox and Duck.

The burger, weighing in at seven times the size of our regular Foxy Burger, will test even the most culinary colossus from the county, and this isn’t something to be entered lightly. But this event isn’t just a cheap way of watching on as people take on a mountain of meat, with all proceeds from the competition being split between two fantastic local causes that are extremely close to our hearts.

The real four pound Foxy burger will appear much bigger in real life. Are you up to the challenge?

All funds raised will be going to the Rooprai Spinal Trust Charity; a fantastic Hertford-based charity that raises money and awareness for people affected by spinal injuries, run by the incredible Marrianne Rooprai and her partner Andy Uttridge.

As well as the burger eating contest, we’ll also have a bouncy castle throughout the day on The Green, and we’ll be serving mini burgers for those of you who don’t feel up to this beef bonanza during what is going to be a fantastic day.

Entry into the contest costs £20 – all of which will go towards our fundraising total.
